Hi, I'm Pokemon John. I've been a huge fan of Pokemon from the very beginning, and the same rings true for this site. The original RBY Pokemon that the PF made helped keep the magic alive in Pokemon while the I was waiting for the GS games to come out. I'm sure many of you felt the same way.
When this site vanished it wasn't too long before I lost interest in Pokemon altogether. A few years passed and my old goal of writing an author-insertion Pokemon fanfic about myself just seemed to pop up in my mind spontaneously. Realizing for the first time that this kind of fanfic was just a kind of roleplaying, I browsed the web and joined some Pokemon-related RP sites.
They left me dissatisfied, though, so I went and made my own. And I found out that not only does the Pokemon Factory still exist, but it had hundreds more pokemon than when I last saw it! I was overjoyed.
But... in a way, I was disapointed. After this site went down without a trace it became something of a goal of mine to make an RPing site featuring the Pokemon PF made in the old RBY days. Or maybe even a fangame. And this is why I'm here.
I would like to know if it would be okay to use the occasional odd PF-designed Pokemon in my RPG. I know it sounds kind of unreasonable, like I'm trying to build my site off of what you guys have done, but I'm not. I'd be willing to do -anything- if you'll give me that blessing. Link to you, affiliate, have the Pokemon's name be a hyperlink here whenever it's used, great! Whatever you want! It's just that this has been a dream of mine forever, I never expected this site to come online again.
Also keep in mind that I would be mainly using RBY PF Pokemon, which you guys don't use anyway, and they'd be -rare- in the RPG. Think Shiny Pokemon or Legendary rare. I'm not trying to steal from you, I'm trying to pay tribute to a site that brought a lot of joy to my life. Admittedly, I considered just doing this anyway. I've read the copyright page on the site, and it didn't detail if this kind of thing was allowed, so I thought, "What the heck?" Thing is, I could never bring myself to treat this place so disrespectfully. I would be kinda crushed if you deny me, but for all it gave to me, I owe this site some honesty and just asking.
I'm sorry I rambled and sounded kinda whiny, but if you grant me my request you'll be fulfilling something of a minor dream of mine. I'm willing to negotiate about anything. I could even recolor some of the old RBY creations if you want to put me to work for it. Anything, just please, let me have my dream.
