A lot of people ask me this question. It's all part of an abandoned plot that I did when I was in high school and still a full time staff member. But, I guess I can reveal some of it now.

Well, in the Selenica RPG that we ran off the Random Insanity forum, Bobby was a bug catcher from Veridian forest that had a vision from the forest guardian (Celebii). The vision involved a cat like Pokmon called Onzalot. Origianally intended to be the unevolved form of Schimre, but that was a dumb idea, cause legendaries don't evolve. But anyway, packs of these are supposed to appear every 1000 years to bring about the end of the world unless the catastrophes stop. So, Bobby went out in search of the cat following a trail of these purple stones that it left behind. Lessee, I believe there was an egg laying involved and a Politoed had to sit on it until it hatched on some alter and Schimre would hatch and devour the world. By then Bobby had a Weedle that was the size of an Onix that knew moves it should know. Looking back, the arc was too complicated and the ending too predictable. If I had to do it again I would keep the madstones. They were the most interesting part of the story. Schimre really shouldn't have had anything to do with the plot. It was mostly about Onzalot anyway.

So basically, Madstones are Onzalot poo.
That's why they're so rare in Bombur, because the Onzalot pack roamed in Selenica (yeah, even if Schimre abandoned the story, PF hasn't :P)

Especially since Bombur is founded on another chapter of the Schimre Legend. This chapter of the Legend states that Schimre traveled the world, wreaking unholy terror, for a long time...but eventually was laid low by the ultimate unbeatable opponent, time. Having "failed to sow where he reaped" or some such, Schimre was left a broken shell of himself...until he was found and cared for by a group of wise, meditative Wobbuffet. They taught Schimre the ways of the circle of life, and sparked in him a desire to create where he had once destroyed. It was Schimre himself who raised the mini-continent of Bombur from the waves as a place for his creations to roam.

My name came along about 2 years ago, actually. Previously, I was just called KookyKoopa because I was a fan of Nintendo's Koopalings and Ludwig (nickname Kooky) was my favorite of all. When I had joined a forum and KookyKoopa had already been taken, I decided to add 12 to the end because that was my age at the time. The name stuck. I don't know, it just rolls off the tongue.
