No, it's not my idea, it's Nintendo's. Check out the new wabuffet pre-evolution at the link below. It is from what I think is the fifth pokmon movie. Also, apparently a GBA Pokmon game is coming and should feature 100 new pokemon...can anyone confirm this?

I believe there are only supposed to be three new pokmon in the game after Crystal...Nintendo's going to take it a bit more slowly now that they've already got well over 200 varieties. At least, that's what I've heard.

...yeah, that's definitely a pre-Wobbuffet form there...and it looks...incredibly dumb.

Well Pory there are definently more than just three. First you have the 3 new ones we saw earlier-the chameleon, the whale, and a maril pre-evo. Then you have a wabuffet pre-evo, and then you have the two new legendary(?) birds(look for Pokmon 2002 pictures to see them, they look similar to a togechick evo) so already that is six...I assume you can tell thats more than three?

Hm. I hadn't known anything more than the three until this topic opened. I wonder if they're going to make Pras a reality? /thinks back to Tyrogue/ Or whatever they may end up calling it?

Ahhh, Yes, Tyrogue, I personally believed it would be called Hitmon. Personally, I'm glad they named it after a fighting style.

Just a sort of follow up, but I read recently that there are supposed to be about 350 pokmon in the GBA version of the game. It is said to be released in Q4 in Japan...Maybe it is a little early, but any guesses on what the starters might be?..Oh, we better get our new pokmon, including starters, finished soon, I at least wanna say we had it first and not change any...like I had to with the whale starters.

Actually, I figure the Nintendo whale is an evo of Qwilfish, because they have similarities in appearance like color, and being more round than the actual animal (far more in the whale's case.)

I've heard about these too from be4. I think that all these new pokemon are going to be a bit of a flop in the long run. There are just too many legendary Pokemon these days. How many are there again? Whoa, too many!

9 Legendary pokmon, 11 if you want to consider Mew and Mewtwo legendary. I guess Dragonite and Tyranitar might also count, they're sorta borderline...and then there are those two new Flying-types in Advance. I guess the thing is, they want each game to offer the thrill of legend, but since each legendary pokmon is unique they can't allow you to catch the same ones twice. So they have to come up with new legends each time.

I'd have to agree that there are just too many even generally. I'll admit I was unsure about having more than 151 when Pokmon GS was coming out, but I've rather gotten used to the current situation...yet already they had to make some ugly stretches to get that many. Just what is the point of Wobbuffet or Dunsparce? Anyone know? If they keep adding 100 new pokmon to each generation of games, they're going to wind up with quite a bit more of the just plain stupid ones...and although new types do offer more possibilities, if they add too many more of those the game could become too complex for the pre-teen audience they keep marketing to.

Actually I don't think the complexity is going to be a major problem. POKMON has lost a majority of its hype and people are not getting in to it too much anymore, the people that are still following are the people that have been in from the begining. It is, in a sense, like Harry Potter, it grows with the fans. For POKMON though, it is an unexpected, yet neat, feature. I think after this a Gamecube game with all 350 might be good, it will keep as at bar for a while, at least.

Well, when the Gamecube game of Pokemon comes out, I'll know that will be a pretty big hit. I mean how many ppl have been wishing for a Pokemon adventure game in 3D rather than the other on gameboy? Yeah, Pokemon Snap was a bit of a failure in a way with ppl, and the Pokemon Stadiums lost interest in a while since all you really did was battle with boring ppl. I'd like a game where you really get to interact with your Pokemon like with Hey Pikachu! They should even include a bit where you get to play as the Pokemon and not the trainer!

Going all the way back to the Wobbufet pre-evo, Scizor and I were discussing it, and thinking about just what would make it a baby pokemon. He said "Does it learn LESS attacks, does it gains stats WORSE than wobbufet?" To which my response was, "No, better." after some deliberation, I've decided to put stock in this theory, that Wob, as I shall call it, will level up better, faster, and stronger than wobbufet, though with the same level of difficulty, and will learn MORE ATTACKS. GOOD ONES TOO!

Actually, I think it has been thought by many people that baby POKMON were simply a way to make an existing POKMON better. Baby POKMON can be born with the moves the parent knew, in some instances a very powerful move, that in turn can enhance the attacks of a POKMON, like Pikachu, early on in it's life.

Same here. I REALLY can't see the point of a Wobuffet baby. Wobuffet exists to be a tactician's choice, hence the 4 inherent attacks and inability to learn anything else. A baby would either start out with all of Wobuffet's moves (making a baby form pointless), start out with some moves and learn the rest later (making it pretty useless without its full set of complementing moves), or be able to learn different moves (which completely defeatys the purpose of Wobuffet). Besides, it's kinda ugly.
