Well, partially, it's a question of quality. Decent works take decent amounts of time. I write a fanfic in my spare time, I know what I'm talking about there. How good is your average sprite comic?

well really, I kind of stink at it. But if I have a good amount of time, I can really make a good one. I love just drawing comics on weekends. Paper+pencil=comic.

I got a comic onto Neopets a few weeks ago. I really sucked, and I have no idea how it managed to get in. But now I do a different comic and it looks much better since I use pencil, paper and ink pen.

Schimre uses paint, I use a Macintosh program called Clarisworks.

Paint is the most baseline of all graphics programs (Well, that's not entirely true, but it's ONE OF), so if they can use Paint to make stuff, and If I can too, so can you.

I haven't done too much with comics yet, but as far as sprites go, I make & modify them using another Macintosh program...Appleworks.

I do quite a bit of sprite modifying for RPGs, and I also use Paint. Works a whole lot better than things like PhotoShop for that purpose, because I have yet to find a way to do pixelwise editing with those fancy graphics packages.
