In the topic "real pokemon" I started talking about Shining Pokmon for PF. I also made an example of what they could look like. Look at it here: pub80.ezboard.com/fpfsuggestionsboardfrm4.showMessageRange?topicID=56.topic&start=21&stop=38

My question is what everybody thinks of it. So, do you like the idea?

I made the Shining form of #PF001 Youthistle below. It is based on the colourscheme of Shining Bayleef. Bayleef namely is also a Grass-type and is, just like Youthistle, yellow and green coloured...

So do you like the idea of Shinies?

All right. The image works!

I was even able to install the font!
BTW I added the three "shining stars" next to the name to make clear it's shining.

*sigh* I really wish I could draw Pokmon. That way I could become a PF artist. But unfortunately, I can only make the dex...

It looks nice to me! Spriting isn't the easiest thing, is it? But if there's one thing I've learned in it...it's that patience & dedication really pay off. Yay SB! ^u^

Great you all like it!

Now I'm curious what the staff thinks of it... (I'm still willing to create shinies for PF.)

Thanks Pory. I'm very curious what the coding will be for creating shinies.

All right. I managed to finish Shining #PF002 Obstangle. Here it is:

Shining Obstangle is based on the colorscheme of Shining Tropius.

And yes, I know its leaves are a different color then those of Shining Youthistle. I've tried different color schemes, including using the color of the leaves of Shining Youthistle. But after studying the Bellsprout family (they all have green leaves, but in their shining forms Bellsprout and Victreebel have brownish leaves and Weepinbell has greenish leaves), and since it has the same colorscheme as Tropius has, I thought this was the best way to color Obstangle.

Well, it's not that different, really, from the coding that's responsible for the six different forms of Chesset. There'd just be a massively more likely chance that the normal form would be displayed than the shiny form.

Yeah, that's a great idea Pory! I had something like that in mind too.

BTW, if I create more shinies, should I post them here or mail them to a staff member (if so, to who?) or..?

That's a good idea, but maybe a smaller chance, like one in eight or ten, or is one in five small enough? After all, in the games the chance of encountering a shiny was very small too.

(Before I forget, would somebody please answer my question above?)

One in ten sounds better. One in twenty might also be reasonable. I certainly don't want to arrange the probability in the games, but one in five is just too often.

It'd save space if you E-mailed them, SB, but Bonzai and I were discussing this on AIM a while ago, and it occurred to me that having you make these and having us implement them might amount to you becoming staff. This is something I need to discuss with Culthulhu.

Hey, SB, if you ever need some help, I can help out. I tried doing some today and they don't look half bad. I even did it the way you've been doing it with the looking up and such. If I had the right program though, I'd be able to animate it, but unfortunatley :P If you want me to, I'll put one of the ones I tried out up here.

I would really love to become staff. It's something I could only dream of.

And about Shiny Creator..., maybe "Creator of Shinies" or something.
