I was just looking at the original pokemon archives and really admired the sprites done by aspenth. They looked so professional they should be on a really complicated SNES game. Some examples are Diminox and Chilly. Who exactly is Aspenth? $:\$

Aspenth, also known as Anapan by some, was a member of the staff in the previous incarnation of the Pokmon Factory. I agree, he did some great works. He also created the first Pokdex font, so PF owes rather a lot to him.

Staff dexes...four of them are done, out of...currently ten, I think. We've been adding some new staff members in rather haphazard fashion lately. There are two people who may or may not be official PF artists at this point. As for the ones that aren't done, at least one is being held up by a problem with the image, there's one that hasn't been assigned to any of the artists yet and two that I'm not sure the artists know they're supposed to be doing. As you can tell, staff dexes are currently a rather low priority here at the Pokmon Factory.

It would be easiest to make a standard windows bitmap .FON file, but I could probably manage a truetype version for use in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop if you thought it was necessary.

I just went through my backup CDs, and found a zip file of all the old Pokemon Factory work I did from all the way back in late '97 to early 2000 (aswell as another zip of my early work on the site from before Mewthree had expanded it and i'd only made about 60 fake pics) I'd be happy to provide any staff members with a copy of that zip file in the hopes that it'd help you with your current work - just email me at anapan8@hotmail.com and I'll give you a link to it.
I can also answer any questions you guys might have, Mewthree and myself did the majority of the work on the site and for a couple months we managed to make it one of the 5 most popular pokemon fansites in the world (if those top 10 banners mean anything; that is).

Font's finished. Seems to be 100% accurate, tho there may still be alignment problems with some skinny letters.

Heh, I guess I should link to the font so people can give it a try.
Pokemon Font 2

I also just finished making up a script in Paint Shop Pro 8 that will add a shadow and color the text so it looks exactly like in the game. It assumes that the input graphic is black text on a white background so you can type the words out in any program that supports bitmap fonts (Paintbrush, Windows XP's Notepad, etc.).

If you don't have PSP8 yet, you can head over to www.jasc.com and grab a trial version (if you want to keep it, just head over to astalavista.box.sk and get yourself a crack to remove the time limit on the trial

Let me know if there's any problems with either of these.
