Do you remember when did you start inventing your own Pokmon? What where you doing? Which was your first creation?

I remember that I invented my first poke at High School. I was bored, so I started drawing. I thought that I could make a pokmon based on an animal which was not included in the pokmon games so I chose an octopus (Gold and Silver were not released yet). I named it OCTOPAINT. It was a cute little octopus which was holding a paintbrush all the time, and it used its ink to make drawings. Then, I gave it an evolution, INKUID. That was the beginning, and I started inventing pokmon as a regular hobby.

Heh, yeah, I remember. I started drawing pokemon on small blank cards. The first one I made was a multicoloured, rainbow water bird when I was like, 15. I believe the second was Dolshrimp, which I recently recolored.

I made more and more of them... I must have about 200 of these coloured drawings right now, but most of them need some serious photoshopping (not only that, but they also need types, new names and learnsets). I stopped for a while, then I remade some of them for a pokemon creation project. And now I'm back in business, sorta. ...I need to remake that rainbow bird...

The first pokemon my siblings and i came up with together was basically a blob of misy with floating eyes, called Myst. It had a couple evolutions, Mystic and Mysticol (a corruption of Mystical) that were basically larger blobs of mist with increasingly scary eyes. we figured they could surround their prey/opponents and suffocate them. we thought the idea was great at the time. but now, in hidsight, they weren't all that original. It says in at least one of the pokedex entries that Gastly also can suffocate its opponents.

The next pokemon my sister and I came up with together was Ramfrio. That one's much better, and when i found out about PF restarting it was the first pokemon on my mind.

Then things took off from there, we've come up with several pokemon, both alone and together.

Heh. My first fan-made pokmon, way back in 1998, was a Mewthree. I was new to the web and didn't realize how many other people were inventing new species, let alone how many had Mewthree of some type. Interestingly enough, though, the first Mewthree I discovered other than my own was one owned by an Australian kid named Andrew...at his site, Mewthree and Frogglet's Pokmon Factory. /reminiscent sigh/ Wow, that was worlds away...I created Poryhedron in an attempt to be a little more original, and I'd say I succeeded; to this day, almost every hit Google serves up on "Poryhedron" refers to me.

Mewthree... Yes, I think I made a Mewthree too... and maybe a Mewfour, if I remember well, but that was a long time ago. They were evolutions of mewtwo, I can't remember how did they look like, but I think they had longer tails and necks. I also think one of them was psychic/dragon.

Mewtwo's name allowed many related pokmon, as well as Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, and of course the eeveelutions, endig with eon. I think that most fans who invented their own pokmon have an eeveelution of some kind, I've seen many of them in the web. I have my own eeveelutions too.

My first fan-made Pokmon... hm... I think I made up a ghost eeveelution at one time, but my first made up Pokmon were real Pokmon that Super Evolved, like going Super Saiyan. Basically their powers were increased...
Charizard - White Hot Charizard (Move: White Hot Fire Blast) - Tail flame now blue and white, Charizard now yellow.

Mew - Angry Mew (Total Annhilation) - Mew grows and turns a darker shade. It also has a purple aura around it. Total Annhilation destroys anything in its path, and faints anything with non-Legendary power easily.

Zapdos - Blue Zapdos (10-Mile Lightning) - Those black feathers now blue, and the attack drains all electricity within 10 miles into a single attack.

Snorlax - Purple Snorlax (Super Hyper Beam) - Now actually has the energy to gte up and do things.

Scyther - Light Green Scyther (Super Slash) - Has molecular blades instead of normal blades. That means the blades were only a molecule thick

Blastoise - Big Cannon Blastoise (Industrial Sized Hydro Pump) - Grows bigger and canons widen.

Dugtrio - Bid Shovel Dugtrio (Giga Earthquake) - Dugtrio now has three enormous shovels.

Hmm... let's think. Wow, that must be ages ago.

I think the first Pokmon I thought up... were evolutions or pre-evolutions (from which I never heard of at that time) of one-stage Pokmon. I always thought of evolution as the most interesting aspect from Pokmon. And then, on the boards of Serebii.net, there was a post from someone with dexes from the 'Pokmon Factory' with dexes of Yawnlax and Fawntler... My dreams came true.

And, since Lickitung is the favourite Pokmon of my little brother, I thought up a little Lickitung. Lickityke therefore was my first creation here at PF...

Ah yes, and off course a Grass Eeveelution, using the Leaf Stone, especially since Grass is my favourite type.

Well, the first proper pokemon I thought up was actually Peshpa, drawn in a hotel room on a scrap of paper. I did have a few other ideas a long time ago, back when PF was run by Mewthree, but I never got round to suggesting them because a few weeks after I found it, the site went down.

After that, I pretty much gave up on it ever coming back, until 'The Pokemon Factory' popped up when I was searching for pokemon cheats one day. ^^ So, here I am, designing sprites yet again, and still waiting for a reply regarding my job application. =P

Firsts- Stonetron, etc. one for everytype, all end with tron.
Seconds-Mewtron, Armadilatron (PF suggest), Spikadilatron (also) Mewthree, Mewfour
Thirds-All remaining

My first pokes were the Grass and Fire types that are now PF209-14, along with a few other pokemon.
Seconds: Spinnakid (PF221), Poisapple-Trapple (PF226-7)
Thirds: The unreleased pokemon at home in the "underground Pokefact'ry"

... Tokechu. Pretty sure it was Tokechu. I'd been in the habit of making up things long before that (And I'm sure somewhere still exists the record for the Mutant team I created way back when, thought that happened when I was 11 and walking the dog, and as I have said many times before, any activity which does not require me to think is a time where I think but probably should not.) If twas not Tokechu, though, it was the Legendary Birds, and I treated those more as Audoban entries, records of habits and such, than as actual Dex Entries. I came onto the boards shortly after the second PKMN movie, with my sig as what is still in my sig today "The power of One is Naught compared to the power of Cheese"

Shortly thereafter, I made Cheddor.
I suppose I've always liked the gag submissions more than the real ones, but that's just my nature I suppose. Which reminds me, must make placeholder for Pikablu for when Gag Submissions reopen...

Dragon's Addendum: Out of Curiosity, I did a Google search on myself, and, Lo and Behold, the same situation as Pory.
Also, EVERYONE'S made an Eevee at some point or another. My contribution, aside from a few ideas concieved very late at night, and never, I think, formally submitted, is Lamoreon.

When I started this topic I told you about my first pokmon, OCTOPAINT and INKUID. Well, Ive found the sheet of paper which I used back then (I hardly ever throw away a drawing, I keep lots of folders and boxes full of them). Here they are:
OCTOPAINT AND INKUID
These were my very first fan-made pokmon. Ever since I drew them about 5 years ago, I never stopped inventing new species. I made new species and I discarded some of them, but OCTOPAINT and INKUID remained (with some changes). This is how I draw OCTOPAINT now, for example:

Its really nice to read your stories! Theyre very interesting. Its amazing to see the differences and similarities between them. I wonder how does the people at Nintendo design pokmon for their games. Do they follow specific procedures? Do they discard ideas too? I suppose the answer is yes. It would be nice to see their sketches!

The first Pokemon... how could I forget. Back in 1999 I invented three poison types named Knoterin, Knoterot, and Knotidon. Soon more followed, such as Seeker, Velocikle and Deagul, Fier and Flair... soon I found myself with about 20 Pokemon. Soon after I found myself with 100. Soon after I found myself with 240... well, you get the drift.

My first Pok....hmm...ah, yes. I remember. Good ol Quezol. A feathered snake. I made a whole story about it. It was supposed to bring the end of the Pokmon World in 2005 and the Legendary birds had to stop it...It was giant feathered serpent with three pairs of wings. I think I even wrote a fairly lame fanfic about it. In those days I was more worried about the story behind the Pokmon rather than the Pokmon itself.

Hm...I think the closest I ever got to making an Eeveelution was when I wrote that parody essay on catching pokgods...it involved using TM 52, Lamer, which is of course an integral part of PF history, used thus: "Steve and dinocat1110 are lamers." I included fake ways of getting several pokgods, and selected Lunareon, Foleon and Omneon to represent the Eeveelution population (Omneon was an Eevee that had been Fire Stoned, Thunder Stoned and Water Stoned all at the exact same time...and I could make a joke here, but why bother competing with Tokechu on that point?)
