Ive been inventing pokmon for a long time. My guess is 7 or 8 years. The first years were the most productive; before I was 18, I had invented around 700. (No, Im not joking, although let me clarify that many of them were variations of a same concept like snakes or mice for instance; besides, at that time I was trying to develop a pokmon world fully independent from Nintendos, which meant repeating animals).
My drawing style was also different back then; surprisingly different, almost primitive compared to now. So was my understanding of the pokmon world. My old archive was plagued with bad ideas, pure Flying-types, lab mutations, and so on. Nevertheless, many of the pokmon Ive submitted and will keep submitting are modified versions of those old pokmon.
I thought that it could be interesting for you to see those old versions, and thats why I started this topic, which Ill try to update every Thursday. Here, I will show you my first sketches and, when possible, the story behind them. At the same time, please feel free to do the same with your own pokmon here as well.
-------------------------------------------------------
For this first issue, Ive chosen two of the first pokmon I submitted: Kolibrisk and Kolibuzz.

Theres not quite a story behind them, I just knew that there werent hummingbird pokmon and decided to make some of my own.
The original versions were called Hummingbolt and Zed. (Note that the first one exceeds the ten-character limit). Zed comes from zoom, I think. They were numbers 83 and 84 in my old archive (I stopped counting the pokmon after number 750). Hummingbolt was the hummingbird pokmon and Zed the buzz pokmon. That was later adapted into Kolibuzz. Their type was Flying/Electric, in that order, since at the time I wasnt aware of Flying as a second type only. Finally, heres the old picture for you to see:
HUMMINGBOLT AND ZED
As you can see, the lightning rod beak was a new addition.
Well, thats all for today. I'll bring more next week. I hope youve liked it!
