The title somewhat explains it all. To avoid multiple threads about a topic that will surely become even more popular tomorrow when both games are released on the United States, Ive decided to start a thread regarding any and all matters about D/P.
Here, you may ask questions if youre stuck at some point in the game, post your Pokmons movesets, ask for good movesets/natures/held items/whatnot, post ideas for nicknaming your Pokmon, post friend codes, ask for Pokmon youd like to obtain in a trade, post your available trades, arrange battles, whatever. Ill start it off.
These are the movesets Im giving to my starter Pokmon. Feel free to comment or use them or whatever.

TIR NA NOG
Male, Careful Nature (+ SP DEF, - SP ATK)
Holds Leftovers (Restore 1/16th of HP every turn)
Overgrow Ability (Grass-Type attacks 50% more powerful when HP becomes Critical)
- EARTHQUAKE
- LEECH SEED
- SYNTHESIS
- AMNESIA (Egg) / WOOD HAMMER
Torterras got great physical defense and attack, as well as fine HP, which makes it suitable for both defending from opponents and hitting hard. Earthquake, having STAB and 100% accuracy would be the offensive move of choice, although it wont hit Flying-Types or those who levitate. By combining Leech Seed, Synthesis and Leftovers it should be recovering a lot of HP every turn without even trying, which is important for a Pokmon of its kind.
Its comparatively low Special Defense worries me. It wouldnt be a problem normally, but it has a quadruple weakness to Ice-Type attacks, and the two most used offensive Ice-Type moves (Blizzard and Ice Beam) are Special. Thus Im going for a Careful nature and possibly Amnesia to use it when its capable of. Otherwise, Wood Hammer would give it a powerful Grass-Type STAB move with recoil that would be canceled out by Leftovers, and takes advantage of the Overgrow ability. I guess it depends on whether this Pokmon will become more exclusively defensive or defensive-offensive.
Alternately you could give it a Yache Berry (reduces damage from Ice-Type attacks) or an Apicot Berry (raises SP DEF when HP falls below one fourth) to remedy this problem, but Leftovers are much better.

SUN WUKONG
Male, Naive (+ SPD, - SP DEF)
Holds Life Orb (Raises power of attacks, but lowers HP whenever attack is executed)
Blaze Ability (Fire-Type attacks 50% more powerful when HP becomes critical)
- CLOSE COMBAT
- FLARE BLITZ
- STONE EDGE (TM)
- GRASS KNOT (TM) / SWORDS DANCE (TM)
Infernape has outstanding physical and Special Attack, as well as great Speed. Its role is clear in coming in and devastating everything whenever it can, which is why it should probably get an all-offensive moveset. Stone Edge, combined with STAB Close Combat and Flare Blitz, should cover almost every type that the Pokmon will come across, and Grass Knot will deal with the larger threats; its especially effective against those lethal brutes, such as Tyranitar and Garchomp.
You could give it Swords Dance instead of Grass Rope and let it boost its own Attack, but it would be wiser to Baton Pass it into battle with some boosts or not boost it at all. Infernape has frail defenses, emphasized by its nature and the HP-lowering effects of the Life Orb, so its not supposed to last long unless it hits everything in its way.

HUMBOLDT
Male, Calm (+ SP DEF, - ATK)
Holds Leftovers (Recovers 1/16th HP every turn)
Torrent Ability (Water-Type attacks 50% stronger when HP becomes Critical)
- SURF (HM)
- FLASH CANNON (TM)
- YAWN (Egg)
- AQUA RING (Egg)
Empoleon is an odd Pokmon, and Im not only referring to its uncanny resemblance to the celebrated French general. It has great Special Attack and Special Defense, but it lacks Speed to come first with and its Defense suffers somewhat. One could call it a special-oriented version of Torterra I suppose, although its neat Water/Steel typing gives it a lot of resistances and no quadruple weaknesses. (But something to keep in mind is that Fire actually does neutral damage to it!)
It learns no good Special Attacks, and will instead have to resort to TMs/HMs with Surf and Flash Cannon. Unfortunately, neither pack the punch that Torterras Earthquake and Wood Hammer do. Still, it does have some tricks up its sleeve, such as the sleep-inducing Yawn that may force your enemy to switch Pokmon, or Aqua Ring, which will steadily recover its HP throughout battle. Its a good Pokmon to throw out as a first battler, as its got solid resistances and all-around good stats with no particularly glaring weaknesses. Its just not as well-specialized as Torterra and Infernape are.
Trade-related, Im looking for the Johto starters, so if any of you have them and are willing to trade me some lets make a deal. Ill post my friend code when I get the games (which should be towards the end of next week).
Have fun!
