I have always wondered of some things about Pokemon,

What happens to the pokemon that Skill Swaps/Role Plays/Traces a Castform?Do they transform?

Can other pokemon LEARN to talk like Team Rocket's Meowth?

Ill think of more later.

Are you talking theoretically in the anime or actually in the games?

Anime:
Since it's Castform's nature I doubt it.
The way Meowth learned to talk, probably, yes.

Are u saying that Bill would be the only pokemon to speak scince he was trapped in one's body? If so, he's not the only one in the game to talk. There's a doduo(I think in gold) in the same room with Copycat that says something like "Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the biggest copycat of all?" or something along those terms. In the rockets hideout in GSC in mahogany town, a Murkrow tells u something about team rocket.........perhaps the password but I'm not sure. It's been quite a while scince I played the game but I know for a fact these pokemon talk. Don't 4get Mewtwo and Lucario. They talked in the movies.

The ones in the games are robots/toys. Copycat's oom is full of dolls remember? I don't remember the Murkrow but I'd think it's a robot.

Haven't seen Lucario's movie but Mewtwo "spoke" (it's telepathic, lips never move) because it's super intelligent. There's a Gastly in the anime too, but that might be telepathy too. The ghost maiden ep.

Murkrow doesn't have to be a robot. It could just have the ability to repeat the sounds of other animals that it hears often, like a parrot. Just because it knows the final password and probably the Team Rocket Oath by heart, doesn't mean it actually knows what those series of sounds really mean.

I saw somewhere that only Meowth, and not all among them, have the capability to learn human languages. It's a rare mutation. And remember, in the anime Team Rocket's Meowth actually learned to speak human instead of learning any of a Meowth's later-level attacks! Other pokmon who appear to speak a human tongue are usually using psychic power in one form or another.

Her room was filled with dolls, but the one that speacks isn't. Chances are that copycat tought it to say that. That makes her bird a copycat. Chances are that she collects pokemon that can do any kind of talking.

Pory: Good point. Guess what my second RSE pokémon was?

So perhaps it's like parrots, most of which don't actually know the language, they just repeat sounds. Another possible explanation for Dodrio but I still think it's most likely to be a doll.

But he wasn't actually a pokemon, and may not have physically been entirely a pokemon, (in the manga he was a Rattata with a more human head) so he could have had vocal cords. And he certanly had the intelligence to understand what he was saying, unlike a parrot.
