I know a mew cheat for Red Blue and Yellow that didn't delete my game. It is very complicated though... You have to skip the trainer north of Cerulean who has the slowpoke. Then, -later on- skip the old man in front of the underground tunnel west of Lavender. When you get fly; go to the underground tunnel, make sure you have your finger on the start button and go out of the tunnel and one square down. Imediatly press the start button and the screen will appear just as you reach the old guy's sight. Go to Pokemon and fly back to where the boy with slowpoke is and you will realize you can't use start. Battle the boy, making sure you are at least 2 squares away from him so he has to walk or your game will freeze. After you win; fly back to Lavender Town and walk through the west entrance. Press the "B" button when the menu screen pops up suddenly. When you do that; a level 7 Mew -that knows only pound- will appear. It gains levels very easily so no worries. Teach it Fly, Psychic, and Horn Drill. Those are the best. Oh and keep transform when you learn it.

As a matter of this topic: I recently caught a blue Larvitar in Crystal but eveolved into a normal Pupitar. Heh. It's a tyranitar already. All in one day!
