Indeed trapinch that was quite funny.

The feud between Zangoose and Seviper were based off of the rivalry between cobra and mangoose. The cobra is an extremely agressive snake and are not afraid of biting really anything they perceive as a threat. Mangoose have fast reflexes making them last longer against the swift attacks that cobra deal. This is how I see the relationship, Seviper are agressive and not afraid to attack and since Zangoose live in close proximity they are enemies. There is also the fact that mangoose eat eggs, so adding further to the rivalry.

Also, in some Asian countries, I believe, they hold competitions to see who wins--mongoose or cobra.

I'm betting mongoose.

Yes, I remember hearing about those competitions. It really is anyone's game as mongoose fall victim to cobras as well.

But if Virrgoose and Slitherbie are just babies of said animals, then wouldn't they just copy their parents? Children do that.

Children are also innocent and eager to make friends to play with. Aside from that, it might very well be possible that Zangoose and Seviper protect their young, and try and keep them away from their feud and the enemy as much as possible. Therefore, Virrgoose and Slitherbie do not see much of the feud and cannot copy their parents.

Random Slitherbie Info:

The small, yellow feet a Slitherbie uses to crawl with, all but dissappear when it evolves. In their place, Seviper only has tiny, yellow bulbs. Pokémon observers stated that this is because Seviper have supreme control over their bodies and use techniques like lateral undulation and sidewinding. Slitherbie, however, cannot - not even after a pokémon observers tried to teach Slitherbie the body movements...

Good guess, Die Autobahn! It wasn't Kangaskid, though. Soble guessed it right first, the new addition is Fawntler, the Baby Deer pokémon!
Also, Alpaquick is correct about the hint.

That is one awesome sprite by Antarctros. Hey is there some reason that some sprites are in the Generation III sprites?

I don't understand your question; do you mean that not all of the sprites in the National Dex are Diamond/Pearl ones? If that's the case, then you're right. Some pokémon had very awkward shading or posing in D/P and those have RSE sprites instead, sometimes with new shading. Jumpluff is an important example.
Stantler, however, is the second frame of its Diamond/Pearl sprite. I did recolor its tail to white, since Sugimori's art shows it to have a white tail (and it did have a white one in Generation III).
