Indeed. Bactrun now works a bit like Spinda: you're able to find Bactrun of various sizes. The sprite shows four possible forms: normal - big - small - enormous, but many other sizes exist.

As for the name, I suppose it's a combination of Bacteria and Unicell (its classification) or, indeed, one (in French: 'un').

Also, Jigglyclops, nice guess; it's good to see you back ^-^

That'll come. First I'd like to hear some opinions on the new Bactrun ^-^ Do you like its new pose and how it looks way less like Muk now? The changes in size (of the bacterial colony) were also introduced to make it a more original pokémon on its own.

I love the shading on the slime, it looks more, well, slimy! And it's differences to Muk is more obvious now, which makes its appearance better than ever.

Does the size affect Bactrun's stats? Because it would seem the smaller the Bactrun the less powerful it would be in certain areas and stronger in others.

Maybe Bactrun's size depends on its level, as its level increases the bacteria that makes up its body multiply.

Moves do not differ; it always has the same move list, no matter its size. Its ability stays the same too; it's Own Tempo.

Hm... I dunno, I was actually planning on making it work like Spinda: instead of varying patterns, it has varying sizes. That'd mean it won't change when it levels up, and that'd also mean it won't affect its stats. I personally think that the effect on its stats would be too difficult in-game, since there are many more sizes than the four present in the National Dex. (I figure its size could vary from 0'01" to 30'00".)

It occurs to me that the size of Bactrun could easily work like the size of Magikarp. In the last several games, there have been people who ask to see large Magikarp (or, in one, two people who want to see Barboach and something else, I forget what.) I'm not sure what determines the size of a Magikarp, although I suspect it has something to do with the hidden values (IVs and EVs) that determine stats. Perhaps the same mechanism affects which sprite a given Bactrun has.

IVs are individual values that all pokemon have. They are random numbers from 0 to 32 in the 6 mains dtats (HP, attack, defence, sp.attack, sp.defence, speed). This seems like the way Magikarp size would be calculated (probably all the IVs added together).
EVs are effort values, which are points for each of the stats. Four EVs in a stat means you get an extra stat point at levelup. You get these when you fight certain pokemon, e.g. Bonzai gives three EV points to speed because it's fast.

Maybe Bactrun can change size depending on its HP IV. 0 to 8 is the smallest, then 8-16, 16-24, 24-31. That's if you want it to have four sizes. Otherwise, you could just make it so the bigger the HP IV, the bigger the Bactrun.

Somehow, I've never noticed Bonzai's post x_X In any case, yeah, that second possibility sounds great! In that case, depending on its HP stat, it is sized 1'00", 2'00", 3'00", up to 31'00".

With that solved, here's some

Random Bactrun info:

It has been discovered that the slimy extensions on its back together form a second mouth. Not only are they shaped like that, the second mouth is fully capable of anything the other does as well - which includes swallowing prey.
Some pokémon observers, however, have experienced - much to their dismay - that the mouth is a very good kisser too...

Here's how the Slakoth line really goes through evolution:

Slakoth drinks a Red Bull, causing it to get hyper and evolve into Vigoroth.
The caffeine rush ends, causing Vigoroth to evolve into Slaking.

I was also kind of thinking that it should be the evolved form of muk, using it in a trade while holding a trade item.

Soble92, unless you didn't know, these things can't be changed. Once it is Dexed and put on the approved Pokemon page, the only thing they change is whether or not it evolves from or into something (like Rhyny, I hear that they have something planned for him). If you really want a Muk evolution, here is some info for you. Once the D/P switch is over, DieAutoBahn says he will suggest a Venomoth and Muk evolution, so watch for that.

Actually, Bactrun was going to be a Muk evolution at the beginning, but at some point that changed. The pokémon Oiel was a sketch initially intended to be Bactrun, though the original description was used for the sprite instead. Even though that description was based on Muk, as it is now I think Bactrun wouldn't be a suitable candidate for its evo any more, for the concept is quite different: Bactrun is a bacteria, even though it gathers with others to form a larger 'organism'. Muk is a single organism from the beginning.

In my opinion, Bactrun is excellent as a stand-alone pokémon. It was actually because of my fondness of this pokémon that ShinE included it a bit earlier than expected.

Bactrun is fine as it is, and now that it has its own D/P sprite it looks better than ever! If we are to worry about a look-alike it would have to be Rapidash, I mean, is it a staff favorite?
Thanks for the welcome ShinE, to tell the truth I wasn´t really gone, there is always some free time in the week to check here on updates but yeah, real life has gotten in the way a lot lately.
