While watching move lists of RSE-style Pokemon I found that Sucker Punch is now Fight-type. Well, this is a great loss for Dark types if you ask me: Sucker
Punch was the only Dark offensive move with high attack priority (attacks first) and its base attack is quite good. On the other hand, Fight-type got already
Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave.
And now, Dark Pokemon who use this move now got an fast attacking move that is still strong, but lacks of Type Bonus.
However, on a second thought, Sucker Punch being Fight-type may actually be more useful, as Fight-type is Super Effective against many types, including the dreaded Steel-type.
My point with this thread is that the types of moves shouldn't be just changed because of their names (for example, probably someone said: Let's make Sucker Punch Fight-type because it has "Punch" in its name), but it must be also considered how they interact with Pokemon types and their movesets. (another example: now that Sucker Punch is Fight-type, it would make no sense that a Dark Pokemon such as Mightyena could learn it). And in the particular case of Sucker Punch, I think it would be better if it was reverted to Dark-type.
That's my opinion, I would like to read what everyone here thinks about this "suggestion".
By the way, where can I find a list of official moves with their type changed? I know that Sucker Punch is not the only modified move.
Off topic: Instead of making a new thread for this, I will include here this quick comment: Ignout can learn Mist Ball, the exclusive move of Latias. For respect to Latias and her signature move, I suggest to remove it from Ignout's Move List. If there are other PF Pokemon who learn signature moves of Legendaries, I suggest to remove them as well.
