I came up with an idea like that a while ago. Here's what it would be like:

1. It would be for Nintendo DS, with the attack list, pokemon list, and inventory on the bottom screen and the pokemon itself on the top screen.

2. You would move the Pokemon using the control pad and you would touch an attack icon on the touch screen to use it.

3. You can also use an attack by saying "Use [attack name here]!" into the mic.

4. You would control the Pokemon outside of battle the same way you would use it inside of battle and the battles would be in real time (similar in the way that battles happen in the kingdom hearts series, an enemy encounter would not bring you to a separate screen)

5. You could use attacks outside of battle, and you could use it to solve puzzles and clear scenery, similar to what you do in pokemon ranger.

6. You would also switch Pokemon using the touch screen, but there would be an effect (similar to what happens to what happens in Brawl if your playing as Pokemon trainer and you swtch pokemon too much) that discourages you from switching pokemon too much

7. When you're outside of battle, you control the Pokemon and the trainer simultaneously, with the pokemon running/walking alongside the trainer, but when you start battling a wild pokemon (you start a battle with a wild pokemon by L-Targeting it) the trainer stands in place and you solely control the Pokemon

8. When a trainer challenges you to a battle, you are in the same area as where the other trainer challenges you, but you are automatically spaced apart a distance similar to the distance two trainers stand away from each other in the show.

9. You character also has a health bar and he/she can be damaged by wild Pokemon (not trained pokemon).

10. When all of your pokemon fainted, you no longer black out, but you are defenseless against wild pokemon (if all of your pokemon have fainted, trainers won't challenge you to battles)

11. If all of your health runs out, then you black out and appear at the last pokemon center you were at.

12. This game would be in 3D

13. Gyms would now look they do in the show, only the gym leader and a huge arena.

14. You would be able to get different clothes for your trainer.
