Since Pokedex entries usually go based off of height rather than length unless a Pokemon is serpentine in nature, they'd be smaller than the "ordinary" animals they are based on. Basaltosor is about 70 feet according to the Pokedex, and Tankylos is around 12 feet. I'm not sure how big Shonilassa is but Opthalassa is about the size of a modern-day bottlenose dolphin and Shonilassa is bigger than that. I know that Shonisaurus is huge in real life but Pokemon tend to be much smaller than actual animals. Consider Wailord, which is huge in Pokemon terms but is absolutely dwarfed by a real-life blue whale. And thanks for the compliment about Opthalassa! Fun fact: Whereas the single continent of ancient Earth was called Pangaea, the single ocean was called Panthalassa, hence the names of the icthyosaur line.

You know how mosquitos drive us mad during the summer months? Well Tuloh mosquitos are even worse! Their larvae, Maddenat, choke up stagnant ponds and quickly overpopulate. Then Miskeetoh emerge from the larvae and buzz around making a horrific droning noise. Male Miskeetoh, like actual mosquitos, only drink nectar though and so they're mostly harmless. However, female Miskeetoh are vicious and predatory, and when they have matured enough evolve once more into Miskeratu, and their noise and viciousness increase tenfold.

And no, "Miskeetoh" is not just a bad misspelling of mosquito, it also has parts of "Miskatonic" in it, from Miskatonic University in Lovecraft's works, harkening to the otherworldly nature of Lovecraft's stories. The line learns plenty of moves like Confuse Ray, Psybeam, and Signal Beam that mess with their opponents' heads, as well as draining moves like Leech Life and Giga Drain.
