Well for me it's getting repetitive. All new games if you get around the supposed ''new features'' are just the same old Mario. Same goes for Sonic. It's like flogging an almost dead horse. I'm ok with re releases (like the supposed re release of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald). I am a fan of some classic games. Besides i'm just looking foward to Assassins Creed 3. I still think White Pikmins are the best. Super Paper Mario.. eh, seems ok.

@Reverse Genocide Budgie: I got nothing from any video game site, it's only my opinion. If you bypass all the extra features the plot of most Mario games are the same. Trying to avoid that point will get you no where. How many Mario games involved beating Bowser? I rest my case.

On other news I am looking toward to Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed 3, Lego Undercover and Animal Crossing on the Wii U. They all look awesome. Quoting sxephil "Lego Undercover is like GTA for kids". Watch Dogs looks good with the hacking element too.

Yeah but extra features are meant as part of the package. It isn't as important as the story. A game without a good story will get boring at some point. Extra features can only get you so far. Extra features are meant to support the main story/plotline, not replace it. Gameplay is a good point of Mario, but the story is a huge Achilles Heel that one cannot ignore. I don't know how they've made it this far with only extra features and gameplay. The plot was ok the first few games but then it just got repetitive. I can name video game franchises that have outclassed Mario in both of it's strong points. Mario has only kept it's huge popularity because of:

1) It's huge fanbase
2) The immense popularity of the classic Mario games
3) Gamers not wanting to let go of a classic franchise

When a video game has a strong point it usually means it has the best/one of the best coverages of those point. It doesn't look too well when one can name a a good number of video game franchises that have outclassed Mario. And with the growing popularity of games like Halo, Call of Duty e.t.c. we may very well see Mario slowly take a back seat like Sonic (Until Flarsable told me I didn't even KNOW Sega were still bringing out new Sonic games). I'm only saying in a nutshell, Mario needs to bring out something new, exciting, unexpected if they are to keep their place as Number 1.
