Leonard was incredibly excited. With his Pokemon Adventure (Leonard always capitalized it in his head) starting tomorrow, he hadn't gotten a wink of sleep the previous night. This had a side effect that Leonard had come to expect throughout many sleepiness and the like: as opposed to becoming lethargic, his energy level increased tenfold and he giggled deliriously at anything even remotely funny, which made some think him slightly insane and some think he was a riot. The result was that, when his mother came to wake him for his journey, she found him feebly laughing at a fly zooming around and around his lamp. He was up and dressed a few minutes later, and strode out of the house having shaken most of the silliness from his system. On the way to the lab, however, he was walaid by his insufferable 8-year-old neighbor, Twiggy Mulden. The boy immediately began a stream of chatter about his brother(whom he idolized) and what starter he got, and the gyms he'd fought, until Leonard was forced to implement his backup plan for these situations. He pulled a nickel from him pocket and gave a warm smile, feeding Twiggy some nonsense about giving it to his brother, and then "accidentally" dropped it. Being a naturally clumsy person, he was able to convince the boy. Once the kid stooped to retrieve the coin, Leonard sprinted towards the Lab. Because he was checking his surroundings for Twiggy, he walked right into the lab doors. He sat down hard, eyes watering, and could not suppress a chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. Just then, the automatic doors slid open, and a young man in a lab coat looked down at him, an amused smile on his face.
