My vote goes to Golbat as well, for any of the reasons mentioned before. I like Purugly too, though, but Golbat just a bit more.

With that, Goblat beats Purugly with 19 to 4 votes and advances to the next round.

Speaking of which, the second round begins!

Claydol managed to get rid of Simisear with ease, but can it also win from Beedrill, which got just as many votes and stung Duskull out of the contest?

I vote Claydol. Intriguing, has Levitate, Special Powerhouse and most importantly didn't eliminate my darling Duskull!

I vote Claydol, I think only due to it being a bigger powerhouse than Beedril, and that it came from the Hoenn region, my favourite region.

Claydol looks funky. A....niche species, like Stunfisk.

I prefer (and thus vote for) Beedrill. Because it has nice colors and has more appealing bodily proportions.

(Duskull is cuter than either, but sadly Duskull is not an option...)

I vote for Claydol curiously. It's just... weird... like that. And also it learns Hyper Beam immediately after evolution (at level 36), which is intriguing to say the least.

Claydol is awesome. Don't see why it spells its name with only one L? Boom. Claydol has just punched you in the face for asking stupid questions. Don't know how it can punch with its onion hands? Boom. Claydol has just punched you in the face again. Claydol is not to be questioned. Beedrill spells its name with two L's so it fails.
