Description: Cray is normal enough to look at, and his entire, er, attire consists of a black or green t-shirt or two, his main one with Chichen Itza draw on it (yes, Mexico exists in my idea of the Pokearth), and a selection of faded jeans. His backpack, which is styled like a Gulpin, is stuffed to bursting, as he's had to, erm, travel for the past few months.

Personality: Cray is normally a cool enough guy, what with his mild social success and his extreme intelligence. Intelligence, of course, is a reletive term, in Pasado's case literally; Cray has recently discovered that his mental aptitude is actually caused by his subconscious mind-reading of those around him; the smarter everyone else is, the smarter he is. This leaves him in a predicament; on his own, he's smart enough, but seems to have a few minor behaviour tweaks, like his minor attention defi - oh, look, TV Tropes. In contrast, too many people around him will leave him slightly . . . fractured. All in all, however, these are only minor concerns; only recently has he even realized he had these powers in the first place. And when he did, it was quite the, um, explosive discovery.

Background: Well, Pasado lived quite the normal life until about half a year ago, when his normally latent psychic powers came out full force - in the form of a prophetic dream. Since the incident, his sleep has become more and more overpowered by these visions, and many now include, for reasons unknown, a little girl screaming for help.

But that isn't what concerns Pasado the most. What does is the pursuer that has inexplicably been chasing him since the first dream. The pursuer, to Crane's immense concern, is a Magneton. Since he can't quite read its mind with his current skill (though evidence suggests that, if he were good enough at it, he would be able to read its programming), it is entirely likely that its appearance the same day would be put down to a coincidence. Until it nearly burned down Crane's house, of course. And started the frantic chase Pasado's been on for months; his hometown simply couldn't fight the thing for long, and in a bout of self-hatred he snuck out of Town one night with his pack full for a trip. The Steel mon has been following him since, wrecking havok on any area Crane stops at for longer than a few days, and it is obvious only one "thought" is driving its AI; get Crane, any means necessary. There are a few times when the thing has lost him, however, and it doesn't actively chase him, per se. Because it Teleports. It'll disappear for weeks at a time, but if Pasado stays at the same place for too long, or strains his psychic powers too much, it will find him, and he will have to run. Fast.

Finally fed up with it, a week or so ago Crane made an attempt to fight back, darn the consequences. He gets captured, fine. He gets killed, fine. He had had enough. So when the creature next appeared, Crane jumped it. Catching it by surprise, Pasado was miraculously not fired to death - instead, the confused Magneton Teleported itself and its attacker to its last stop point - mainland Bombur, near its northernmost coast. Surprised, Crane fell off the pokemon, which, still confused itself, proceeded to Teleport again, now back to the original point of ambush. Crane waited for a while and finally realized his wonderful luck - the Magneton was stuck, as its Teleport must have run out of PP during the accident; who knows when it had last been medically treated itself. So, for now, Pasado is stuck on Bombur. He found his way to Anchore, and is now living there semi-peacefully, still on edge and waiting for the pursuer's return. In the meantime, he has gained some useful intel about the region he has found himself in . . .

And so, knowing in his heart this peace is temporary, he has decided to set off on Bombur, hoping against hope that the psychic Gym Leader Alex he hears of will be able to help him figure out both the Magneton, its programmer, and the seemingly connected visions. But first, he stops off at Anchore Lab to get a traveling partner...

((EDIT 2+3: Teleport, in case you didn't know, is teachable to Magneton in R/B/Y by Technical Machine. Hope that's a good enough excuse. I figure that if a, hem, certain enemy Murraven can know moves it shouldn't just to be a kind of boss character, then I can teach my driving plot point a TM from a different region.))
