We've seen it a few times by now; derailing a discussion thread absolutely horridly when the word "counterpart" is mentioned in there somewhere. Something in that word just starts the engines every time: we start discussion about what makes a counterpart to the point where it has nothing to do with the suggestion itself.
So, how about we define it for good? What makes or breaks a counterpart in pokemon(-factory) design? Why are some pokemon counterparts while others are not?
It's a line drawn in sand so far, but maybe we can come to a conclusion about this?
I'll add my own opinion after some thinking and few replies to fuel this particular discussion.
